Terms of Use

Welcome to TYM. These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Tera Labs LLC ("we," "us," "our"), a Washington State limited liability company. They govern your use of the TYM app ("the App"). We wrote these Terms in plain language because we believe you should understand what you're agreeing to. If you have questions, reach us at support@teralabsllc.com. By downloading or using TYM, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. What TYM is
TYM is a personal finance tracking app for iOS, Apple Watch, and widgets. You manually enter your income, expenses, transfers, and savings goals. TYM helps you see where your money is going and how your spending compares to your budget. TYM does not connect to your bank. TYM does not access your financial accounts. TYM does not transmit your financial data to any server. All data you enter stays on your device unless you choose to enable iCloud sync, in which case your data syncs through your personal Apple iCloud account. We never have access to your iCloud data.
2. What TYM is not
TYM is not a financial advisor, tax preparer, investment service, or financial planning tool. All information displayed in the App — including budgets, safe-to-spend calculations, daily allowance, spending insights, forecasts, and AI-generated suggestions — is for informational and organizational purposes only. None of it constitutes financial, investment, legal, or tax advice. You should consult a qualified professional before making financial decisions. We are not responsible for any financial decisions you make based on information displayed in the App.
3. Free and paid tiers
TYM offers a free tier and a paid subscription called TYM PRO. The free tier includes core features such as unlimited transaction entry, budgets, safe-to-spend, daily allowance, and basic insights. Some features are limited in the free tier, including the number of categories, budgets, recurring items, history depth, themes, and fonts. TYM PRO unlocks all features, all themes, all fonts, AI chat, export, savings goals, and more. TYM PRO is available as a monthly subscription ($4.99 per month) or an annual subscription ($39.99 per year). We may adjust pricing in the future. Any price change takes effect at the start of your next billing period. We will notify you of changes in advance as required by Apple.
4. Subscription terms
All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment information. Your subscription automatically renews unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Your Apple ID account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the rate of your current plan. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your device settings: Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will continue to have access to PRO features until the end of your paid period. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods. Refund requests for App Store purchases are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. If a free trial is offered, any unused portion of the trial period is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
5. Your data and privacy
Your privacy is the foundation of TYM. All financial data you enter — transactions, categories, payment methods, accounts, budgets, savings goals, and preferences — is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. We never see, collect, transmit, or store your financial data. We have no servers that receive your information. We have no analytics that track your behavior. We have no advertising partners that receive your data. If you enable iCloud sync, your data is stored in your personal iCloud account via Apple's CloudKit, encrypted by Apple and governed by Apple's privacy policy. Security settings such as your passcode are stored in the iOS Keychain with the flag "this device only" — they do not sync, do not back up, and cannot be accessed by us or any third party. TYM PRO includes an AI chat feature powered by Apple Foundation Models, which runs entirely on your device. Your financial data is never sent to any cloud AI service. TYM's App Store privacy label states "Data Not Collected" for all categories. For complete details, see our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for backing up your device. We are not responsible for data loss caused by device failure, software updates, or accidental deletion.
6. License and ownership
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use TYM on Apple devices you own or control, for personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms. TYM, its source code, design, graphics, logos, and all related content are the intellectual property of Tera Labs LLC and are protected by copyright and applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App. You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App. You may not remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels. You may not use the App to develop a competing product. You may not sublicense, rent, or transfer your license to any third party.
7. Acceptable use
You agree to use TYM only for lawful personal finance tracking purposes. You may not use the App in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations, infringes on the rights of others, or could damage, disable, or impair the App.
8. Age requirement
TYM is rated 4+ on the App Store. There is no minimum age requirement to use TYM. TYM does not collect personal data from any user, including children under 13. Because TYM collects no data, COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) data collection restrictions do not apply.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
TYM is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of harmful components. We do not guarantee the accuracy of any calculations, insights, forecasts, or AI-generated suggestions displayed in the App. Financial data displayed in TYM is based entirely on information you enter manually. The accuracy of that data depends on the accuracy of your entries.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Tera Labs LLC, its owner, affiliates, and suppliers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the App. Our total cumulative liability for any and all claims arising from your use of the App shall not exceed the total amount you have paid for TYM PRO in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after the updated Terms are posted constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
12. Termination
You may stop using TYM at any time by deleting the App from your device. We may terminate or suspend your license to use the App if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. Your locally stored data remains on your device — we have no ability to access or delete it.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Washington, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Washington State.
14. Apple's standard license agreement
In addition to these Terms, your use of TYM is subject to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement, available at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula. In the event of a conflict between these Terms and Apple's Standard EULA, Apple's Standard EULA shall govern to the extent required by Apple.
15. Entire agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Apple's Standard EULA, constitute the entire agreement between you and Tera Labs LLC regarding your use of TYM. If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
